Fluticasone is used for the treatment of seasonal allergy symptoms (such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy, watery eyes) and asthma. The medication is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and irritation in the nasal passages and airways.

The usual dosage of Fluticasone for allergies is 50‑100 mcg (1‑2 sprays) per nostril once daily; for asthma, 100‑250 mcg twice daily via inhaler.

The administration form is a nasal spray or an inhalation powder.

The effect of the medication begins within 1‑2 weeks for nasal allergy symptoms; for asthma, improvement may be seen within 24‑48 hours.

The duration of action is typically 24 hours for the nasal spray (once‑daily dosing) and 12 hours for the asthma inhaler (twice‑daily dosing).

Alcohol consumption is not recommended during treatment, as it may worsen side effects.

The most common side effects are headache, nasal irritation, or sore throat.
